Quick answer

Heat pump repair in Bellevue usually traces to one of four faults: a failed defrost control, a stuck reversing valve, a weak capacitor or a refrigerant leak. Duct problems show up as rooms that never catch up. We test the heat pump and the duct system, price the fix and start once you approve. Call (615) 412-2815 at any hour.

Local know-how

Heat pump faults and duct losses we find in Bellevue

A heat pump works all year in Middle Tennessee, cooling in summer and heating through winter, so it logs far more hours than an air conditioner alone. The parts that wear first are the ones that switch modes: the reversing valve, the defrost board and its sensor, and the outdoor fan motor that restarts after every defrost cycle.

Ducts are the other half. A heat pump delivers air that is warm rather than hot, so every leak and every bare run under the floor costs comfort. On a Bellevue call we check refrigerant pressures and defrost operation, then inspect the ducts before blaming the heat pump for a cold back bedroom.

The Harpeth River and what flooding does to HVAC

In the 2010 flood the Harpeth River at Bellevue rose about nine feet over its old record. Water that high doesn't stop at basements. It reaches outdoor units on their pads, air handlers set in crawl spaces and duct runs strapped under the floor joists, then leaves silt and moisture behind when it drops.

Equipment that was dried out and restarted after a flood can run a long time, but corrosion keeps working on electrical connections, coil fins and the bottom of the cabinet. Flex duct that was soaked can hold mold and lose its insulation value. When we work on a Bellevue house on lower ground, we look under the floor as well as at the equipment and tell you plainly what shape the ducts are in.

Getting to you

From Greenbrier to Bellevue

Our shop is at 2354 US-41 in Greenbrier, roughly 23 miles north of Nashville, and Bellevue is out on the west edge of Davidson County. Traffic sets the drive, so we'll give you a realistic window when you book rather than a promise. Have the thermostat setting and what its screen shows, the age of the heat pump if you know it, and the way into the crawl space or attic. If the outdoor unit is iced solid, switch to emergency heat and tell us so on the call.
